German helmet, 1860’s w. Russian Imperial badge of 180th Vindau Infantry Regiment
This item depicted in the images below is a rare wonderful helmet German Raupenhelm from the 1860’s and is in amazingly good condition. All parts are very fancy, red leather lined chinscales, two lionheads, large Bavarian side cockade, visor trim, rear brassspine, and (for Ludwig) may well be. Where this helmet gets theatrical is the outrageous cupid on top and the side trim.
The front plate is made from an antique plate embellished with an antique crown and beautiful Imperial Russian military enameled badge of the 180th Vindau Infantry Regiment. I think this particular helmet has been represented to high rank officer of 180th Vindau Infantry Regiment. But I am not sure about it. Very clean inside and out. A one of a kind. Size: aprox. 7 1/2. For sale there is a helmet, Russian badge is for free.
