World War I Russian enlisted man tunic. Brown wool with red piping and shoulder straps. Plain silver buttons. This is part of the famous Rod Parker collection. He had an amazing array of rare WWI era tunics that he collected in the 1960’s and 70’s. He passed away several years ago and the collection has been stored in a barn since then. Needs cleaning. There is no moth damage to speak of except one small pencil size hole in back. Simple sewn in shoulder straps. Inner linen liner has what looks like a later added costume or tailor tag roughly sewn in. Label from Germany and has the word TINSLEY written in ink over it. ( I am sorry that we are not knowledgeable on Russian tunics so we can only offer the information from Rods family and the photos submitted). No other visible marks or labels. Would clean up with a little TLC. Extremely unusual tunic.
